The reported incident involving Justin Mohn is indeed disturbing and tragic. The Pennsylvania resident has allegedly been arrested and charged with murder. He was taken into police custody on Wednesday morning after allegedly posting on YouTube the decapitation of his father and making threatening statements toward federal officials.
The legal process will proceed as Mohn faces charges, and investigations are set out by the local prosecutors to retrieve more information about the motive and circumstances surrounding this incident. According to reports, Justin Mohn’s victim, who happened to be his father is called Michael Mohn.
According to Middletown Township Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla, the accused, Justin Mohn, was reportedly captured by the civilian police and Pennsylvania State police near Fort Indiantown Gap. This is a National Guard training base near Harrisburg and is about 100 miles from the home where his father was killed.
The Middletown Township Police further stated that they received a call on Tuesday about a deceased male at a residence in Levittown, Pennsylvania. On arrival, they noticed that the deceased’s son had fled with his father’s car after the murder incident.
In the 14-minute YouTube video, that led to his arrest, Justin Mohn identified himself as a militia leader and referred to his father as a traitor for working for the federal government for 20 years. He also mentioned President Joe Biden and criticized several groups including the Black Lives Matter movement and the LGBTQ community.
In the video which has been taken down due to YouTube community guidelines, the deceased’s head was in a cooking pot and at a point appeared in a plastic bag in Justin Mohn’s hands, NBC News reported. Currently, Justin Mohn, 32, has been charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. The first hearing in the case will be February 8 according to reports.
