Captain Smart of Onua TV has been released from police custody

 
A few hours after the information about Captain Smart of Onua Tv's arrest surfaced online, there has been been an immediate release by Media General to announce his release from the police Custody.

On Thursday dated 2nd December 2021, he was invited by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) after which he was taken to Nima Police Station for interrogation. 

Captain Smart after being cautioned on the offence of offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace as provided under section 207 of the Criminal Act, 1960 (Act 29), provided a caution statement which helped in granting him bail.

Media General in his release hinted at the current trend in getting journalists arrested which has affected their way of working. Media General stated that the comment Captain smart made, should not have called for such interpretation by the police.

At last, he encouraged colleague journalists to be fearless, honest, and forthright in their professional outlook always.
