Eugene Kwame Marto who goes with the stage name 'Kuami Eugene' born on February 1, 1997is a Ghanaian High-life and afrobeat singer and songwriter signed to Lynx Entertainment.
Kuami Eugene is known for several songs of his, including "Angela", "Wish Me Well", "Ohemaa" and many others. He was born in Akim Oda, Ghana to Alex and Juliet Marfo.
His interest in music led him to sing in the church from a very young age where he also learned how to play the drum, keyboard, and guitar.
Because of his love for music, he dropped out of school and spent months studying music in a studio located in the Eastern Region without informing the school authority nor his parent.
He was later expelled from school after it was discovered that he had skipped school. He attended Salvation Army Senior High school located at Akim-Wenchi.
The young artiste, who grew up in the environs of Fadama, a suburb of Accra furthered his education to Ghana Telecom University.
MUSIC CAREER
Kuami Eugene's rise to fame begun after he contested in season 5 of the reality competition show MTN Hitmaker in Ghana in 2016, where he finished third overall.
He got signed to Lynx Entertainment afterward where he released several singles. In 2017, his "Angela" single reached one million views on YouTube being the most for any music artist on that label and was indicated to be in rotation among the top 10 songs in Ghana.
He is a featured artist in "Adwenfi" by DJ Vyrusky and Shatta Wale. In 2018, he released a continuation of the storyline in the "Angela" song called "Confusion" and in June 2018, he released the single "Wish Me Well", which was in response to the negative comments he received on social media, some of which alleged he was stealing lyrics from another artist Ice Prince Zamani.
Following his first album 'Rockstar' released in 2019, he recently released his 2nd album titled “Son of Africa” on 9th, October 2020. The 14 song album, which features both local international musicians, has been well received by fans and music lovers.
He participated in Sarkodie's 2017 Rapperholic Concert in Ghana, on the 25th of December, Ghana Music Honors 2017 Edition, December to Remember 2017, Concert 2017, the 61st Ghana Independence Celebration Show at Indigo 02 in London.
Kuami Eugene has gone on to perform on many more stages including at Oh My Festival in Amsterdam, Afrobeats to the World concert at the Playstation Theatre in New York and Afronation in Ghana.
RECOGNITION
Amakye Dede, a legendary High-life artist in Ghana crowned Kuami Eugene as his successor in high-life music at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
On the 21st Vodafone Music Awards held at Accra International Conference Centre, Kuami Eugene won the Artiste of the Year, beating off competition from Sarkodie, Medikal, Kofi Kinaata and Diana Hamilton.

Kuami Eugene recently started dating a young Ghanaian lady by the name, Cyrilla. He disclosed that saying that the child he was holding at the hospital in circulating images and footage was his elder sister’s dismissing rumors of him having a baby.
