A handful of President Akufo-Addo's boys in four vehicles crossed that of a soldier, pulled him out, handcuffed him and took him away
Many commuters on the Ashaiman Tulaku-Michel Camp road near Tema were left stunned two days ago, specifically on Wednesday, November 25th, 2020 at about 8 a.m when a handful of President Akufo-Addo's boys (dressed in brownish uniform same as their Ayawaso West Wuogon outfits) in four vehicles crossed that of a soldier, pulled him out, beat him to the pulp, handcuffed him and took him away.
The soldier, who was in uniform, was Warrant Officer Class One (W.O.1) Mashud Salia, a Physical Instructor with the 1BN while the men who beat him were led by one Osei Tutu who claims to be the Deputy Director of the National Communication Bureau of the BNI.
It all started when Osei Tutu, driving a V8 with registration number As 7249 -18 together with his boys in three other vehicles, a V8 with registration number VR 5571 – 19 and two Nissan Pickups with registration numbers BA 2871 – 17 and GS 7372 -20 hit that road with sirens on.
The road at the time was choked so there was nowhere for the soldier to ease off the road to give way to the siren blaring convoy when he heard the sound. While he was looking for a space to give way, Osei Tutu, in the lead vehicle, on reaching the soldier suddenly crossed him, forcing him to stop. The other vehicles in the convoy came to a screeching halt too. The men in it then got down, pointed their guns at the Warrant Officer, pulled him out of his vehicle, and began to beat him up.
Onlookers stared in disbelief at what was happening. When the men were satisfied with the way they had beaten the soldier in uniform to the pulp, they handcuffed him and took him to the Michel Camp Barracks where they handed him over to Commander of the 1BN, Lt. Col S.B Nyante. Some of the soldiers told this paper they surprise their Commander could not do anything about it especially as in the army, even a General cannot handcuff a WO1.
The incident has generated anger among soldiers especially troops of the 1BN. Those who talked to this paper said what happened has never been heard of in the army.
