A resident and landlord in ofankor spot M, has been arrested for shooting his tenant "Benjamin Okyere" to death over expiration of rent in Accra.
A resident of Ofankor has been apprehended by Achimota-Mile 7 District Police command for murdering his tenant "Benjamin Okyere" over the expiration of rent.
The convict identified as Landlord " Victor Steve Nana Kamkam" shot his tenant due to his refusal to vacate his rented apartment on the due date.
This unfortunate event happened at "Spot M", a sub-area in Ofankor located in the Greater Accra Region.
The convict indicated that he gave the deceased a notice to leave the house prior to the expiration of his rent but he refused which made him furious.
The eyewitnesses when questioned, explained that the landlord was seen in a bulletproof attire with weapons that he used in killing the victim.
“We heard four gunshots so we came running to the scene only to see the tenant lying in a pool of blood,”
“Initially, we thought the sound was ‘Banja’, only for us to see the gun-wielding landlord running away. When we got closer to the scene, the tenant had been shot in the chest, leg, and shoulder,”
the eye witnesses explained
The deceased when questioned on why he killed his tenant, told " Gifty Duah Mensah" a reporter of Adom News that, it was to defend himself.
The death of this young man upon reaching the people in the area made them furious which caused them to set fire into the house and burn it down where families of the deceased are also fighting for justice for their beloved.
“Our brother told us that he had a dream about the incident hence his resolve not to renew the advance only for him to be killed on the very day he was moving out. We want justice to prevail in this matter.”
