Two new cases have been confirmed in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The first case was reported to be a 59 year old Ghanaian woman who resides in the UK but currently came down to Ghana and is living in Kumasi. It was stated that, she reported to a private hospital in kumasi with a history of fever, recording 39.1 degrees celsius, runny and general malaise. Her sample was taken to KCCR for further investigations on CONVID 19 and the results was positive.
The second case involves a 61 year old lebanese male, who is a trader and a resident in Kumasi, He reported to the health facility unwell with a temperature of 39.4 degrees celsius and cough. His blood sample was taken to test for CONVID 19 and came out positive.
The patients are being managed in isolation and due treatment is given. Contact tracing for newly confirmed cases have just started.
With all cases confirmed, 399 contacts have been identified and are being followed up. 19 contacts , out of the 399 developed symptoms. Their samples have been taken for further testing of CONVID 19. Results for 15 of them tested negative and the remaining four are yet to be out.
The cases confirmed so far, are imported cases from Turkey, Germany, France, UAE, Norway, United Kingdom and United States of America.
