Source : myjoyonlineDoctors in Abuja, have gone on an indefinite strike, as result of delayed payment and poor working conditions.
This announcement was made, after a third case coronavirus was confirmed in Nigeria.
Roland Aigbovo, the president of the doctor's association in Abuja,
stated that, it was indeed a difficult
decision to be made. He further said that, members have not been paid for two months despite repeated warnings and ultimatums.
The problem stem from a new payroll system that has been introduced by authorities in Abuja.
Mr Aigbovo said, other health workers at government run hospitals would be joining the strike in 48 hours, if their demands are not met, since they were also affected by the pay dispute.
